Searching for official travel information
A trip to Paris, France/H2>
- Sites produced by the government (ours or theirs) or a library
- Articles or reviews on a newspaper, magazine or other media web site
- Sites produced by well known paper travel guides, such as Loneley Planet or AAA
- Sites produced by travel agencies or not so well known "guidebooks"
- Sites produced by a hotel that you plan to stay at
- Sites produced by individuals (please note: sites whose URLs contain the word "members" or "users" are usually produced by individuals. Also, geocities.com and angelfire.com are web servers that allow anyone to publish pages for free, so URLs with that in them are usually unofficial.)
- Tour companies selling you a tour package.
Please note: the more specific you get in your travel searches (including City and State names) the better results you willl get. I've done these examples with just a country name, but you'll find better results if you take the country name and add city and/or State names to the search terms.
