Remember to "save a copy" or "keep a copy" of your final e-mails in your sent folder, or keep a copy by some other means so that if I don't receive it, you'll have proof you sent it.

Please use full sentences to answer the questions. If the question says "What is your name?" then your answer should be a sentence starting with "My name is . . ."

Please number each answer, and start each answer on a new line.

Students may work together to find the answers but each student must type up and send their own e-mail, using their own words. If two or more students submit exactly the same answers, neither student will receive credit for that portion of the final, nor will they be able to submit corrections. If you work with another student, please say so in your e-mail.

The questions below each contain links to web sites where you can find the answer to the questions, click on the link to take you to that site.

With these questions, you are demonstrating your ability to navigate through web sites with very different designs and find information that is located within those sites.

    Finding information at specific web sites

  1. Who is your favorite Actor or Actress? Does the Internet Movie Database http://www.imdb.com/ list their birthdate? What year were they born?

  2. Get Driving directions from your house to the San Francisco Airport (don't give me the directions, just answer the next question). Which city do you live in and how many miles is the trip? Hint: Mapquest at http://www.mapquest.com/ is a good place for this (you'll need to click on the big "Driving Directions" and then choose advanced options on the left. Then you put in your full address in the starting destination and in the destination address, choose "Airport" from the list instead of address, put in San Francisco in the city box, and CA in the state box and then click on "Get Directions").

  3. Pretend you have recently sent someone a package via UPS (United Parcel Service) with tracking number
    1Z 448 768 03 6103 5929. What date and time was it delivered? Hint: the UPS web site is found at http://www.ups.com/ and you'll want to go to the "tracking" section of their web site.

  4. What city do you live in now? Use http://www.mlslistings.com/ to look up homes with the same number of bedrooms and baths as the one you have now. How much would the cheapest one with a photo cost? Do you like the photo?

  5. What year was The Nickelodeon movie theater in Santa Cruz opened? Their web site found at http://www.thenick.com/ will tell you. For future reference you can also find all their current films, showtimes and reviews there as well.
