Create a new HTML document called links.html on your local computer. At a minimum, this page should contain the following: |
A title in the HEAD of the HTML document that says your name and links assignment |
Set a web safe background color for that page in the BODY tag. Also set
web safe text, link, alink and vlink colors. The color picker web site can be helpful
in deciding which colors to use. http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/picker/index.html The colors should be clearly visible, and look good, on top of whatever background color you have chosen. Please note: studies have shown that using a dark background color with light text can make it hard to print that page, and/or for people to read the page (especially people older than 35). |
Give me either an ordered or an unordered list of your three favorite web sites. You will need to use absolute addressing to link to these sites, and make the text of the description the name of the web site you are linking to. Please use indenting, and start and end tags for all list items. |
Use a graphic to link back to your homepage using relative addressing. If you don't have a graphic
that you want to use, you can use one of these:
Also make a link that is text only that says "My homepage" and uses relative addressing to link to your home page for your wpd space. Anytime you use a graphic for navigation, you should have the same navigation options available in plain text. |
Make a link to the syllabus for this class using root addressing. Remember you cannot test root addressing until you actually publish the page in your wpd space. |
Add an e-mail link to send an e-mail message to you. Note: you cannot test an e-mail link in the CTS or SLV labs. You must be sitting at a web browser which has been configured with someone's e-mail settings in order for the e-mail link to work when clicked on. Normally if you are at a computer with the correct settings, it will launch that person's e-mail program and start a message to the e-mail address which is the target of the link. If you can't test it, don't worry, I will as part of the grading process. |
Add an within page link to take me directly to the last paragraph of your student homepage for the class. You will have to place an anchor tag at the beginning of that paragraph so that the browser will know to go there. |
Your page must validate before I'll grade it. Check your work at http://validator.w3.org/ . |
Add a link from your student homepage under assignments to your links assignment using relative style addressing. |
E-mail me to tell me that your assignment is ready to grade at html@meyerconsult.com. Please tell me which wpd you are. |
